This Privacy Policy explains how ScanPro ("we", "the App") handles information when you use our Android application. We collect as little data as possible and are fully transparent about it. This policy is written in line with the principles of the EU GDPR, UK GDPR, and applicable US state privacy laws (including CCPA/CPRA and similar frameworks).
1. Who we are
ScanPro is developed by RDC Apps. For privacy questions and data requests, contact us via:
- Website: policy.rdcapps.com/scanpro
- Bug reports & contact: bugs.deniscasian.com
2. What the App does
ScanPro lets you scan QR codes and barcodes with the camera or from gallery images, generate QR codes (link, text, Wi-Fi, contact, email, payment/crypto requests and public PDF/file links), create 1D barcodes, use batch generation/reading and ZIP exports, keep a local history, and optionally purchase Premium or Supporter. PDF/file QR codes contain a public link; ScanPro does not upload or host your files or process payments.
3. Data we process
3.1 Data stored only on your device
- Scan & create history — content you scanned or generated, timestamps, filters and saved code appearance. Free keeps the newest 50 entries in total across all categories. Stored in app private storage (SharedPreferences / local files). Not uploaded by us.
- Settings — theme, vibrate/sound, auto-copy, purchase status, daily free quotas, QR/barcode appearance, optional logos, consent choices and ad scheduling counters.
- Camera frames — processed on-device for barcode detection; not recorded or sent to our servers.
- Gallery images — decoded locally when you pick an image to scan or a logo; not uploaded by us.
3.2 Data we do not collect ourselves
3.3 Permissions
- Camera — live scanning;
- Internet / network state — used by Google Play Billing and RevenueCat for optional purchases, and Google AdMob/UMP for advertising and privacy choices;
- Vibrate — optional haptic feedback on scan;
- Photos / media (via system picker) — optional scan-from-image and Premium logo.
4. Advertising and privacy choices
ScanPro uses Google AdMob for banner, native, interstitial, app-open and optional rewarded ads. A rewarded ad may grant one extra use after a daily limit is reached, when an ad is available and the reward is earned. Watching is optional. Ad availability is not guaranteed.
When advertising is enabled, Google may receive IP addresses (which can indicate approximate location), advertising/app identifiers, ad interactions and diagnostic data for delivering and measuring ads and preventing abuse. Data handling depends on consent, device settings and Google's services. ScanPro does not send QR contents, Wi-Fi passwords, contact fields, camera frames or selected images to AdMob as ad-targeting data.
Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) manages applicable privacy choices. Ads are requested only when the consent framework permits requests. Where a consent form is required, it is presented before advertising. You can revisit available choices through Settings → Ad privacy choices. Depending on your region and choices, ads may be personalized, non-personalized or limited; non-personalized advertising does not necessarily mean that no data is processed. Android also provides advertising-ID controls.
Premium and Premium Lifetime include ads. Only One-time Support or an active Monthly Supporter entitlement removes advertising. AdMob is not initialized while verified ad-removal access is active, and ad slots are hidden. If that entitlement expires or is refunded/revoked, advertising may resume subject to applicable privacy choices. Previously processed data remains subject to the provider's retention rules.

5. Purchases and RevenueCat
Optional Premium purchases and subscriptions are processed by Google Play Billing through RevenueCat. Google handles payment details. We receive only the purchase and entitlement status needed to unlock the purchased features — unlimited scans, QR/barcode creation, daily bulk uses and history, custom QR/barcode styles and logos, or ad removal for Supporter products. Premium and Premium Lifetime do not remove ads. RevenueCat processes this data under its own privacy policy as a service provider.
6. Legal bases (GDPR)
- Contract / legitimate interest — provide core scanning and generation features on-device;
- Contract / performance — process optional purchases through Google Play and RevenueCat;
- Legal obligation — respond to valid requests from authorities when required by law.
Consent is used where required for advertising personalization and related device storage/access. Other advertising operations, such as security and fraud prevention, are handled according to applicable law, your privacy choices and the provider's policies. Consent can be changed through available Ad privacy choices without affecting the validity of earlier processing.
7. Your rights
Depending on your region, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent.
- Clear scan history in the App (Settings / History);
- Uninstall the App to remove all local data;
- Manage or cancel subscriptions in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions;
- Revisit available advertising choices in Settings → Ad privacy choices and use Android advertising-ID controls.
For privacy requests, contact us via the links in section 1.
8. Children
ScanPro is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
9. Data retention
- Local history and settings remain until you clear them or uninstall the App; Free history automatically replaces entries beyond the newest 50 total;
- Purchase and entitlement records are retained by Google Play and RevenueCat in accordance with their respective policies;
- Advertising, consent and diagnostic data processed by Google is retained according to Google's applicable policies. Removing ads does not automatically delete previously processed provider data.
10. International transfers
Google Play, RevenueCat and Google advertising/consent services may process purchase, advertising and consent-related data in the United States or other countries. Where required, safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses may apply under their terms.
11. Security
We rely on Android app sandboxing, HTTPS for network calls made by SDKs, and minimal data collection. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
12. Changes
We may update this policy. The "Effective date" at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy where permitted by law.
