1. Who we are
PATHY is developed and operated by RDC Apps, based in Romania ("we", "us", or "the developer"). For data-protection questions or requests, contact us at [email protected].
Your private travel records and journal notes are not transmitted to the developer or to AdMob. Android's sandbox protects these local records. Advertising and purchase providers separately process the information described below.
2. Information used by PATHY
2.1 Information stored locally
PATHY may store the following information in app local storage (SharedPreferences and internal database):
- Visited countries — countries you mark as visited;
- Visit dates and places — dates, cities, and areas entered for individual visits, including repeated visits to the same country;
- Travel Notes — custom personal journal entries, notes, and memories you write for each country (exclusive to Premium Lifetime);
- App preferences — settings, selected map themes (Default, Vintage, Cyberpunk, Forest), and custom supporter app icon preferences;
- Local entitlement cache — local indication of purchase and active subscription status synced from RevenueCat.
The app does not require you to create a PATHY account and does not collect your name, email address, precise GPS coordinates, postal address, phone number, photos, or documents.
2.2 No cloud backup or synchronisation
PATHY is configured with Android backup disabled. The app does not upload your visited countries, visit dates, or app preferences to any server. Clearing app data or uninstalling PATHY permanently deletes your travel records and notes from your device.
2.3 Information we do not intentionally collect
- No account name, email address, or phone number is required;
- No contacts are read or uploaded;
- No precise GPS location is requested;
- No microphone, camera, photos, SMS, or call history access is requested;
- The travel tracker does not require an advertising identifier; AdMob may process advertising or other device identifiers when advertising is enabled, subject to privacy choices and device settings;
- No personal data is sold by the developer.
3. Advertising, voluntary support and premium tiers
PATHY is funded by Google AdMob advertising, optional one-time Supporter purchases, Monthly Supporter subscriptions, and Premium Lifetime packages.
3.1 Advertising and privacy choices
The free version may show adaptive banner ads, native ads, interstitials between navigations, and app-open ads at eligible openings or returns. Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) manages advertising privacy choices; ad requests are made only when UMP permits them, after any required consent message. Choices may affect personalized, non-personalized, limited, or unavailable advertising. Declining personalization does not necessarily remove all ads.
AdMob may process IP addresses (including approximate location inferred from them), advertising or other device identifiers, app and ad interactions, and technical diagnostics for advertising, measurement, and fraud prevention. PATHY does not provide your visited-country list, cities, dates, or journal notes to AdMob. Data handling depends on Google services, device settings, and privacy choices. See the Google Privacy Policy and Google advertising information.
Revisit available consent choices through Settings → Ad privacy choices. Android also provides advertising ID controls. The in-app advertising privacy entry is hidden while ad removal is active. Consent state and ad-frequency counters are stored locally to manage choices and avoid repeated requests; they do not contain your travel journal.
3.2 Supporter levels
- Remove Ads / Basic Support (one-time) — removes all third-party in-app advertising while the entitlement remains valid; unlocks the 🏅 Supporter Badge;
- Monthly Supporter (monthly subscription) — removes all third-party in-app advertising while the subscription is active; unlocks the 💎 VIP Supporter Badge and fully functional 🎨 Custom App Icons;
- Premium Lifetime (one-time / complete access) — unlocks all Custom App Icons, 📝 Travel Notes, 🗺️ Custom Map Themes, and the 🏆 Ultimate Legend Badge. Premium Lifetime does not remove ads or grant ownership of Supporter or Monthly Supporter.
Once an active Supporter or Monthly Supporter entitlement is recognized, PATHY disables ad display and requests and skips advertising initialization at subsequent openings while the entitlement remains active. Refunds, revocations, or subscription expiry may restore ads after purchase status is synchronized. Cancelling renewal normally preserves ad removal until the paid period ends.
4. RevenueCat and Google Play billing
PATHY uses RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases, subscriptions, and entitlements, in conjunction with Google Play Billing. Depending on the transaction and device, Google Play and RevenueCat may process:
- An anonymous RevenueCat App User ID;
- App package, app version, device and platform information, IP address, and technical diagnostics;
- Product identifiers, purchase tokens, transaction dates, subscription status, renewal status, expiration dates, refunds, and restorations;
- Store country and currency information;
- Information needed for fraud prevention and purchase validation.
The developer does not receive your full payment-card details. Purchases are subject to the policies and terms of Google Play and RevenueCat:
5. Managing and cancelling subscriptions
If you subscribe to the Monthly Supporter tier, you can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Google Play Store account under "Subscriptions". A direct shortcut is also provided inside the app's settings for ease of use. Cancellation normally stops renewal while access continues until the paid period expires.
6. External services and links
PATHY may contain links that open your browser or another app, including this Privacy Policy page, the bug-reporting website, the developer page on Google Play, YouTube, and TikTok. When you open an external link, the destination service may receive your IP address, device and browser information, and information you voluntarily submit. Those services operate under their own privacy policies.
7. How information is used
- To display visited countries, dates, statistics, map themes, timelines, achievements, and widgets;
- To allow premium members to write and save travel notes and memories;
- To remember app settings, selected map themes, and active supporter status;
- To securely verify and restore purchased entitlements via RevenueCat;
- To prevent fraud, diagnose failures, and maintain local app functionality;
- To display and measure permitted advertising, manage consent, and limit repeated requests;
- To respond to support or bug-report requests you initiate.
8. Legal bases
Where GDPR, UK GDPR, or similar law applies, processing may rely on:
- Performance of a contract — providing purchased Premium and Supporter functionality and verifying entitlement;
- Legitimate interests — local app security, local diagnostics, and app maintenance;
- Consent or user request — advertising personalization and related device storage or access where consent is required, and opening system settings and external links;
- Legal obligations — tax, accounting, consumer-protection, and payment requirements handled by applicable providers.
9. International data transfers
Google (including advertising and consent services) and RevenueCat may process advertising, purchase-related, and technical information in countries other than your own. They are responsible for applying the safeguards described in their respective privacy documentation.
10. Security
PATHY relies on Android's application sandbox and local device security features to protect your data. Protect your device with an appropriate screen lock and keep Android, Google Play services, and Android System WebView up to date. No device, network, store, or online service can be guaranteed completely secure.
11. Your privacy rights
Because all travel records and notes are stored locally and are not transmitted to us, we do not hold a server-side copy that we can access, export, or delete on your behalf. You can modify, correct, or delete any travel history and notes directly inside the app, or clear all data instantly via the "Reset All Data" option in Settings.
Advertising information controlled by Google and purchase records controlled by Google Play or RevenueCat may need to be addressed through those providers. Available ad consent choices can also be reviewed in Settings. For any other privacy questions or requests, contact us at [email protected].
12. Children
The app is a general-audience utility and is not designed to collect personal information from children. It does not require a profile. The app contains third-party advertising; personalization and privacy messages depend on applicable requirements and configured Google advertising settings. Optional purchases are controlled by Google Play and device or family payment settings.
13. Retention
- Local preferences and travel records remain until changed, app data is cleared, or the app is uninstalled;
- Local consent state and ad-frequency counters remain until reset or app data is cleared; Google retains advertising information under its own policies;
- Purchase and subscription records are retained by Google Play and RevenueCat according to their legal obligations, service terms, and retention policies;
- Technical support information voluntarily submitted through the bug-report website is handled according to that site's policy.
14. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when app functionality, providers, or legal requirements change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will identify the current version.
