Your privacy matters. DC Tools includes Google AdMob ads; many tools process files locally on your device.

This Privacy Policy explains how the DC Tools Android app ("the App", "we", "us") handles your data. By installing and using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

🔐 The Short Version: DC Tools offers free tools supported by ads. Many tools process files locally on your device. Google AdMob processes advertising and device data as explained below. Supporter plans remove ads. We do not sell your data.

1. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we rely on the following legal bases for the limited data processing that occurs:

  • Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)): When you make a purchase or subscription through the App, we process the minimal information required to provide the purchased service (for example, validating your entitlement through RevenueCat).
  • Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)): We store a local usage counter on your device to enforce the free daily limit (10 uses/day) and to prevent abuse. This processing is minimal, local, and does not involve any personal data.
  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): The App does not require consent for its core tools. Before requesting ads, the Google consent process is shown where required. You can revisit available privacy choices in Settings.

Your content (files, text, images, generated output) is never transmitted to us or to any third party. All tools process data locally on your device, so no GDPR legal basis is needed for your content — we simply never receive it.

2. How We Use Your Information

We do not ask for your name, email address, or phone number. Google AdMob may process advertising and device data, including an IP address that can indicate approximate location. The data involved in using the App includes:

  • Local usage counter: A number (uses per day) stored on your device to enforce the free limit. It contains no personal data.
  • Local preferences: Your favorites, recent tools, and appearance settings, stored only on your device (Local Storage).
  • Purchase status: A token confirming which plans you have purchased, obtained from Google Play via RevenueCat, used only to unlock your features.

Local preferences and your daily usage counter are not sent to AdMob. Advertising data is processed separately by Google AdMob for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention.

3. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

  • Google Play (Google LLC): All payments, subscriptions, and refunds are processed by Google Play. Your payment information is handled exclusively by Google and never by us. Google Privacy Policy
  • RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.): We use RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases and subscriptions. RevenueCat receives an anonymous, app-specific ID and your purchase/entitlement status to validate purchases. It does not receive your files, content, or personal data. RevenueCat Privacy Policy
  • Google AdMob (Google LLC): Displays banner, native, interstitial, rewarded, and app-open ads. The Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and share IP address, app interactions, diagnostic information, and device or account identifiers, including the advertising ID when available, for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention.   • Google Fonts: Fonts are loaded from Google's CDN when an internet connection is available. Google Privacy Policy
  • Web version: The App includes a link to the web version at tools.deniscasian.com. If you open it, that website is governed by its own practices.

Ad removal: Supporter and Supporter Monthly remove ads. Premium Monthly and Premium Lifetime unlock premium features but do not remove ads.

4. Purchases & Subscriptions

The App offers optional paid plans (Supporter, Supporter Monthly, Premium Monthly, Premium Lifetime). All purchases are processed by Google Play — we never see your credit card, billing address, or other payment details.

  • Subscription management (renewal, cancellation) is handled through your Google Play account settings.
  • Purchases are linked to your Google account and can be restored on any device with the same account via the "Restore Purchases" button in Settings.
  • RevenueCat is used solely to validate which entitlements your Google account holds.

5. App Permissions

The App requests the following permissions, and what they are used for:

  • Internet: Required to load app content, request ads after the consent process, validate purchases with Google Play / RevenueCat, and open external links. No user content is ever transmitted.
  • Advertising ID (AD_ID): Used by Google Mobile Ads for advertising when available on your device and permitted by your privacy choices.
  • Network state: Used to detect whether you are online (for example, to show the web-version link or handle purchase flows correctly).
  • Storage (write, Android 7–9 only): Used solely to save files you choose to download (images, PDFs, exports) to your Downloads folder. On Android 10+ the system MediaStore is used and no storage permission is needed.

6. Data Storage & Security

  • On-device storage: Favorites, recents, settings, and the daily usage counter are stored locally on your device. Clearing the app data removes them.
  • Downloads backup file: A tiny file (dc-tools-usage.json, containing only a date and a number) may be saved to your Downloads folder to keep the daily limit fair if the app data is cleared. It contains no personal information.
  • Advertising data: Google AdMob processes the advertising and device data described above. Ad-related information is transmitted using encryption.
  • Purchases: Stored securely by Google Play and RevenueCat using industry-standard encryption. We do not store any payment data.
  • Because your content never leaves your device, the risk of data breach or unauthorized access to your files is effectively eliminated by design.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13 (or under the applicable age of consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Advertising data may be processed by Google AdMob as described in Section 3.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (in particular under the GDPR), you have the right to:

  • Access: Request information about the data we process about you. This includes information handled by Google Play, RevenueCat, and Google AdMob as described above.
  • Rectification and erasure: Correct or delete any data. You can delete all app-local data by clearing the app's data from your device settings.
  • Restriction and objection: Object to any processing. You can review advertising privacy choices in Settings, stop using the App, or cancel subscriptions through Google Play.
  • Data portability: Your local data (favorites, settings) is yours — it stays on your device and you can export it from Settings.
  • Withdraw consent: You can revisit available advertising consent choices from Settings.
  • Lodge a complaint: You may complain to your local data protection authority (in Romania: ANSPDCP).

9. International Data Transfers (GDPR)

Purchase data (app IDs and entitlement status) and advertising data are handled by Google Play, RevenueCat, and Google AdMob, which may process data on servers located in the EEA, the United States, and other countries. Where such transfers occur, they are protected by appropriate safeguards, including the European Commission's adequacy decisions and Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs). No content you process in the App is ever transferred internationally.

10. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information.

We do not sell personal information ourselves. Google AdMob may collect and share advertising data as described in Section 3. We do not collect contact information from App users; purchase-validation data and advertising data are described above, and we do not process user content. You can review advertising choices in Settings and contact us to exercise applicable privacy rights.

10.1 Other U.S. State Privacy Rights

Residents of states with privacy laws (such as Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and Utah) have similar rights under their respective statutes. 11. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

The App is a native Android application (WebView). Its tool interface does not use browser cookies for advertising. Google AdMob may use advertising identifiers and related technologies. The following storage technologies may be used:

  • Local Storage (on-device): Saves your preferences, favorites, and usage counter — never leaves your device.
  • Google Fonts cache: Fonts fetched from Google's CDN may be cached by the system. This does not involve tracking.
  • Google AdMob identifiers: Advertising ID, app set ID, or other device identifiers may be processed when available, subject to your privacy choices.
  • Google Play / RevenueCat identifiers: Anonymous identifiers used strictly for purchase validation.

Advertising technology: Google Mobile Ads processes app interactions and diagnostic data for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention. See Section 3 for details.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated through the App (for example, a notice in Settings or an update description). Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
